is an independent, locally owned, general interest bookstore. Located conveniently in
Aptos, Californiaon Monterey
Bay, BOOKWORKS is a full-service store, staffed by a
dozen booksellers who are passionate about books and love to
share their insights and recommendations with other readers.
We take pride in maintaining an exceptional inventory of new
books for all interests, tastes, and ages. We are known for
our speedy search and ordering services for titles that we
do not normally carry. In addition to books, we have a selection of audio books, magazines, distinctive greeting cards, calendars, plush toys, chess sets, Putumayo World Music CDs, a unique line of geode bookends, and other reading accessories.

Set in past and present Salem Massachusetts, the story takes off immediately, interspersing splendid detail about the history of lace makers as well as the famous witch trials, with the modern story of a family's intricate history and the manifestations for the present generation.
